Our intention.
I set out to create a one-button drift game, aiming for clear, frustration-free gameplay.
Midway through development I added a 1v1 mode, focused on precision; where victory isn’t just about finishing first.
THE GAME
Since this is a one-button game, you'll need to press the spacebar to initiate a right turn. If you don't press anything, the car will automatically veer to the left.

Yellow Cylinder: Driving close reduces timer by 3s.
Spinzone: Double-tap spacebar quickly to trigger animation and cut 3s.
Turns: Varying turn designs prevent repetition and add challenge.
1v1 mode : Play with a friend to extend replay value. Coins still count. The challenge lies in precision racing—completing mini-challenges reduces your time. The winner is the player with the lowest timer.

Shortcuts: Useless in solo play, but in 1v1 they add tension and enrich the experience through smart level design.
Diegetic Menu: Players navigate lines into the garage to choose actions. The menu doubles as a tutorial, removing the need for a separate level.

Shop & UX: Players can buy cosmetic cars for progression and achievement. The one-button menu navigation was a unique and rewarding UX challenge.
To conclude
My first solo project taught me a lot, helping me identify strengths and weaknesses. Despite some compromises due to deadlines, I consider the game a success. Coding was the toughest but most educational part.
